Project Accountant - Africa at EnerMech

Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas

• Responsible for all aspects of project accounting and ensuring projects operate with an appropriate and effective set of financial controls
• Timely and accurate preparation of business line accounting entries and reports in line with monthly and quarterly project timetables
• In depth review of Profit & Loss and liaising with project managers
• Assisting development of standard management reporting framework for use group wide
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting business lines with forecasting updates and variance analysis
• Ensure that project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are calculated and disclosed at the project review meetings
• Capture and safeguard project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are properly calculated and disclosed at the project reviews.
• Close working with assigned business line to assist with management and reduction of WIP, Accrued Income, Aged Debt and other KPI’s
• Assisting and supporting stock and fixed asset counts
• Preparation of company VAT returns and other taxation requirements such as Intrastat & EC Sales Lists
• Communicate and support internal and external payroll functions.
• Assist the Finance Manager and wider Finance Department as required.

Requirements

Essential:

• Secondary education Higher qualifications
• Previous experience in a project or management accountant role in a medium sized business
• Wide knowledge of practical daily operations of an accounting team
• Experience working with integrated ERP business management systems
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft excel
