Project Analyst South Africa

Leap29 are recruiting for a position which is available in Cape Town, for Project Analyst to work with the Project Finance and Project Development team.

Responsibilities:

• Work in direct cooperation with the Development team for renewable energy projects in the country, according to the defined strategy;
• Support the Project Director in the follow-up of both internal and external stakeholders for the late-stage development and financing of a renewable energy project;
• Support for presentations, reports and analysis that may need to be presented to the Executive Committee, Investment Committee or to the Client;
• Assist the project during the project finance phase, keeping the data room updated and supporting the compilation of all documentation necessary;
• Organize and manage Sharepoint folders, alerting the project team when critical updates or changes have been made;
• Keep project files up to date and track progress of development activities and permits;
• Assist with the project tracking sheets and project schedule updates, as may be needed;
• Assist to secure any remaining project permits, licenses and approvals;
• Procure and support the selection of service providers, consultants and advisors according to internal standards;
• Support the organization and reporting for Project Team weekly remote meetings and bi-monthly in-person meetings;
• Any ad-hoc administrative duties as may be required in association with the project or Development team;
• Maintain and promote values, strength and reputation of company and its business lines in any interactions with external stakeholders

The ideal candidate will have:

• Master’s degree in engineering, economics, business or related major;
• Post-graduation or specialization in Project Management is a plus;
• At least 3 years’ experience in project management or a related role in renewable energy or infrastructure field would be advantageous;
• Experience in dealing with external stakeholders in a professional environment;
• Experience in dealing with international players is a valuable plus;
• Advanced user of MS Project and other Project Management tools;
• Experience in interacting with external stakeholders;
• Availability to travel throughout South Africa and internationally from time to time;
