Project Engineer - Cape Town at Anglo American

Job Description:

• The incumbent will be required to plan, engineer and execute projects within time, cost, resource and budget constraints, through all project phases in line with De Beers project procedures.

 Your role will include:

• Develop project financial budgets.
• Manage and control the allocation of funds to ensure adherence to approved budgeted expenditure.
• Provide input to and basis of project capital and operating cost estimates.
• Manage the execution of design (systems, equipment and products) including documentation, data packs, re Risk evaluation and alleviation within design of systems, equipment and products( technical and  SHE)views and execution.
• Coordinate the integration of all project technical documents and reports in line with Group requirements
• Provide technical consulting services to the operations and disciplines in the area of specialization
• Define (draft) and coordinate scopes of work for system and equipment delivery
• Direct or prepare and evaluate the technical aspects of procurement
• Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders regarding technical issues
• Develop and manage implementation of quality plans
• Manage construction and commissioning activities through to handover
• Co-operate with colleagues to facilitate the achievement of company objectives
• Build relationships with project stakeholders through continual interaction and service excellence

Qualifications:

• Recognised Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)

Additional requirements:

• 5 years post qualification experience with at least 2 years in project engineering and execution.
• Experience in marine and land based related projects, especially ship conversion, process plant and subsea mining will be an added advantage but not a prerequisite.
• Preparedness to relocate to other centres as and when necessary
