The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering material handling, transport, packaging and logistics solutions that optimise material flow. The role will support production, localisation and export projects, logistics contracts and divisional cost control.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement logistics requirements for new projects, production requests, divisional upgrades and approved improvement initiatives.
Develop production and warehouse concepts, layouts, drawings and material handling solutions.
Develop packaging specifications for local, export and CKD parts.
Manage projects, suppliers, contracts, timelines and associated budgets.
Prepare enquiry requests, tenders, appropriations and purchase requisitions.
Coordinate the acceptance, testing and handover of logistics equipment and facilities.
Develop and maintain logistics material handling contracts.
Liaise with internal departments and external contractors.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Management or Procurement Management.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics processes within an automotive manufacturing environment.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Engineer in Logistics Planning or a similar environment.
Minimum 2 years’ Project Management experience.
Proficiency in CAD and MS Office; advanced MS Excel skills advantageous.
Knowledge of material handling, packaging and logistics costing principles.
Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills.
Self-motivated, disciplined and able to work independently.
German language proficiency will be advantageous.
Knowledge of automotive manufacturing procedures, systems and contract management will be advantageous.
