    Project Engineer - Witbank

    The incumbent in the role is responsible for managing engineering projects and activities in a safe and efficient manner and to make an effective contribution towards the business’s plan and strategy.

     Key Responsibilities:

    • Compiling quality control plans and professional certification of compliance to design.
    • Liaising with clients, contractors, authorities and other stakeholders.
    • Performing complex mechanical/and/or electrical calculations.
    • Resolving design and development problems.
    • Managing budgets and project resources (funding, contractors and contracts).
    • Assessing environmental impacts of projects.

     Minimum Qualifications:

    • A 4 Year Tertiary Degree in Engineering (BSc. Engineering or B. Engineering).
    • ECSA registration as professional engineer (PrEng) or meeting the requirements to register with ECSA as professional engineer
    • Postgraduate qualification in Project Management will be advantageous.

    Minimum Experience:

    • 5 Years’ experience in a project environment (Construction, beneficiation plants, materials handling, renewable energy).
    • Experience in review and certification of designs, including Professional accountability.

    Behavioural Competencies:

    • Ability to carefully and objectively analyse and evaluate information to inform decisions and key actions.
    • Consciousness for details and the ability to produce consistently high quality and accurate work.
    • Ability to maintain high levels of individual and team performance by driving the achievement of goals, targets and financial objectives.
    • Ability to take the initiative and invest energy to make things happen.
