Project Geophysicist at Barrick Gold Corporation

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the acquisition, interpretation, and management of all aspects of airborne and ground-based exploration geophysical data in AME. 
• Establish and monitor quality standards on all airborne and ground geophysical projects.
• Screen data against data acceptance criteria and filing of data and interpretation products in an appropriate digital archive.
• Collaborate closely with AME Geologists and Exploration Managers to generate new exploration targets for follow-up. 
• Maximise the geological understanding extracted from geophysical data available to Barrick Gold Corporation. 
• Manage the acquisition of new geophysical data across various jurisdictions.

Qualification Requirements:

• BSc Hons Geophysics, post graduate degree (MSc in applied geophysics an added advantage).

Experience and Skills Requirements:

• Valid driver's license. 
• At least 5 years in an exploration environment.
• Significant knowledge of various geophysical techniques (Magnetics, Gravity, Electromagnetics, Induced Polarization); theory and application.
• Experience in the full workflow of survey acquisition from design, contractor selection, acquisition management, data QAQC, review, analysis, and interpretation.
• Expert knowledge of geophysical and geological systems as applied to Gold and Copper exploration.
• Experience working in a collaborative team of geophysicists and geologists.
• Experience with various geophysical software packages such as Oasis Montaj, Maxwell, Geoscience Analyst, UBC, etc. Proficiency in the use of ArcGIS/ArcPro and Leapfrog for data integration.
• Good Analytical skills.
• Good communication skills both verbally and written.
• Must be self-motivated, efficient, and innovative/pro-active.
• Cross functional abilities (geophysics-geology collaboration).
