Person Specification

• Minimum qualification of S4/T3 in Electrical Engineering. With TMDP and 10 years experience, of which at least 2 years involvement in implementing projects, in the metals manufacturing industry ( furnaces, hot and cold rolling and other heavy engineering industries).
• The ideal candidate will hold a Degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current).
• With TMDP and 6 years of experience, of which at least 2 years involvement in a project engineering and management position in the metals manufacturing or consulting industry (furnaces, hot and cold  rolling and other heavy engineering industries).
• Legal compliance training and experience in terms of the OSHACT.
• A Management or Project management qualification will be an advantage.
• Computer literate.
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet work deadlines with attention to detail

Requirements

Job Specification: 

• Main role of the job is to conduct Feasibility Studies and make recommendations and then implement approved projects: Engineer, Cost, Procure, Manage and Implement Capital Projects relating to a wide range of technologies and applications utilising suitable companies with a focus Electrical disciplines and Project Management of a complete projects.
• Feasibility studies: Define the problem, identify possible solutions, analyse the technology, evaluate the options and make recommendations including return on investment calculations.

Project Implementation:

• Project and scope specification/clarification.
• Compile Enquiries, conduct Site visits and adjudicate Bids.
• Clarification meetings
• Place orders and compile contracts.
• Project Implementation and Contract Management, i.e. Cost, Time and Quality control.
• Legal Compliance.
• Commissioning and performance testing.
• Documentation and close out.
