Public Relations Manager I - Johannesburg at FNB South Africa

Purpose

• Coordinate public relations activities within the business unit designed to create and maintain favourable image for employer internally and externally. Responsible for managing a portfolio of clients or business units to position them in and through the media. Drive the positioning and reputation management through a range of Public Relations tools and media platforms

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification - Relevant undergraduate degree in communications, media, journalism or equivalent
• Experience - Minimum of 4 years’ experience in communications with managerial experience

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement organisation's public relations strategies, policies and procedures
• Prevent wastage, and on an ongoing basis identify process improvements in order to contain and reduce costs
• Actively coach team through providing advice about subject matter, solutions, principles and processes, and personal progression with the aim to improve performance
• Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own and employee development
• Build working relationships across teams and functional lines in order to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
• Coordinate and directs public relations/communication activities for the organisation
• Develop ideas and opportunities for feature articles, interviews, presentations and other public relations activities that promote awareness of the company and its products or services
• Develop contacts and relationships with media representatives to create opportunities for keeping the company and its products or services in front of public and the trade
