    Quality Control Technician

    Job Description

    • The above vacancy exists at our Packaged Gas - Specialty Gas department, Kempton Park, reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor. Suitably qualified candidates who meet the requirements of this role are invited to apply.

    Overview & Key Responsibilities

    • The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for performing chemical analysis of pure products and mixtures in cylinders, trolleys and liquid cylinders.

    Key areas of responsibility for this role would include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensure continuity and consistency of analytical equipment functions at the Specialty Gas, CryoEase and
    • Merchant Gas Laboratory at the Kempton Park Facility.
    • Commission and optimise all laboratory equipment by conducting performance trails, measurement uncertainty determinations and modifications to existing analytical systems to ensure optimum service for routine Quality Control activities.
    • Ensure best equipment performance and operational integrity.
    • Adhere to Air Products’ safety standards and ISO 45001 requirements.
    • Achieve departmental objectives and support personnel development.
    • Perform Quality Control tasks and analysis at the Merchant and Vanderbijlpark Laboratory when required.
    • Execute tasks according to Air Products’ Quality System procedures and work instructions.

    Essential Requirements

    • A National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.
    • Proven analytical chemistry capability.
    • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in the gas industry.
    • Good analytical chemistry understanding and ISO 9001, FSSC 22 000, ISO/IEC 17025 and GMP experience advantage.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, along with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
    • A valid unendorsed driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
