Quality Controller (Centurion) at Montego Pet Nutrition

Description

• At Montego, our Quality Controllers help keep our high standards at the heart of everything we do. From raw materials and production checks to finished product testing and documentation, you’ll play a key role in ensuring every stage of the process meets our quality, food-safety and consistency standards.

What you will be doing:

• Inspecting raw materials, packaging and storage conditions against approved specifications.
• Checking stock rotation, batch numbers, expiry dates and supporting documentation.
• Monitoring quality throughout batching, mixing, extrusion, baking, moulding and cooling processes.
• Conducting sensory, moisture and water activity checks.
• Drawing product samples for laboratory testing.
• Performing scale verifications and production-line quality checks.
• Identify quality deviations and escalate them in line with established quality procedures.
• Completing and verifying QA documentation and production records.
• Monitoring hygiene, housekeeping, food safety and OHS standards.
• Guiding and supporting direct reports and monitoring required cleaning schedules.

Requirements

What makes you a great fit?

• Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
• At least two years’ experience as a Quality Control Assistant or Quality Controller.
• Knowledge of food-safety, hygiene and quality standards.
• Understanding of product specifications.
• Able to measure water activity and moisture and complete scale checks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Accurate, reliable and highly attentive to detail.
• Strong communication, monitoring and follow-up skills.
• Willing to work shifts.
