National Renal Care seeks to recruit an ambitious, talented, goal driven and self-motivated individual to fulfil the role of a Quality Lead.

The quality Lead will Deliver on the Consistency of Care portfolio, which focuses on utilising the Quadruple Aim to maximise patient satisfaction and promote the wellness and joy of our healthcare delivery team while facilitating high standard quality of care to patients in their wellness journey in NRC.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Drive the clinical quality improvement processes in the NRC ; regionally and nationally
• Analyse and review data to manage and ensure efficiencies in clinical practice and implement clinical quality improvement methodology projects within NRC. Apply various training methodologies to ensure the ongoing improvement of training delivered
• Focus efforts on improving the overall quality of clinical care. Putting the patient and their family at the centre of the quality care model
• Collaborate with stakeholders in the delivery of all integrated and high quality care within NRC.
• Monitor, evaluate and benchmark national and internationally the clinical outcomes in NRC
• Actively promote and assist in the implementation and evaluation of clinical pathways.
• Ensure services delivered meet the clinical expectations of patients and that patient care is delivered in a safe, effective, timely and efficient manner.
• Participate and manage research projects in region and nationally in NRC: facilitating publishing and presentation.
• Responsible for following up and managing person-centred Health and Care for region of allocation.
• Ensure processes are adhered to in line with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and the training provided in this regard.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Analysing QMS data to identified opportunities for improvement and closure of all gaps.
• Assist with implementing corrective actions in cases where objectives are not met.
• Participate in external forums as an NRC representative. These forums can include but are not limited to the Department of Health, HASA, and The Office of Health Standard Compliance; HPCSA; Netcare.
• Supporting effective clinician engagement.
• Knowledge of health-related policies, procedures and legislation. 
• Coach and mentor team and  talent development to achieve the required quality outcomes and standards.
• Documenting and maintaining Policies, SOP’s and related documentation for the group which supports the standard practices.
• Implementing the SOPs in the Group.
• Ensuring compliance to QMS SOPs in the Group.
• Collaborate closely with the Digitisation team to support patient safety and clinical governance related aspects.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, i.e., clinicians (doctors and all other health care practitioners), professional associations and accrediting bodies as well funders.
• Collaborate with the IT department re digitisation and progress in digitisation. Continuously focus on troubleshooting to identify potential problems and escalate unresolved queries to the relevant IT department.
• Support the change processes with moving to a digital platform, support and encourage the Doctors and Health Professionals through the process and understanding the benefits to business.
• Assess Doctor and Health Professional training needs and deliver training which is of a high standard.
• Ensure continuous changes to training material and as well as consistent support including informal and ongoing training.
• Coordinate assessment results, provide feedback and arrange additional training if necessary.
• Ensure full compliance to statutory regulations, policies, procedures, best practice and professional standards.
• Drive a culture that guides and directs best practice, fostering an environment of continuous learning, improvement and cohesiveness.
• Enable a learning and growth culture whereby information regarding successes, issues, trends and ideas are actively shared between team members. Encourage innovation, change agility and collaboration.
• Assume responsibility for overseeing and implementing governance risk management processes.

Essential Requirements:

• MBChB degree at NQF level 7 is essential.
• Registration with HPCSA.
• Post graduate qualification in clinical management is beneficial.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years working  experience in a clinical environment.
• Excellent communications skills at all levels.
• Sound interpersonal relations and ability to take the lead within a team.
• Proven track record of problem-solving and innovation.
• Experience in training, coaching and mentoring.
• Knowledge and experience in working on an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Knowledge and experience in Clinical Decision Support (CDS).

Essential Technical Skills:

• Knowledge and support of the ever evolving NRC strategy of patient centred Health and care. Continuously deepen the awareness of the strategy to address new challenges within the Healthcare sector, to build a competitive advantage and sustainability through the NRC strategy.
• An advanced level of Computer Literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Knowledge with regards to clinical care flow, standardisation of documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and policies as well as process requirements.
• Knowledge of international accreditation will be advantageous
• Knowledge of health-related policies, procedures and legislation. 
• Superior interpersonal skills (developing and maintaining positive relationships; communicating clearly and effectively with people at all levels with verbal and nonverbal communication; working with others to identify, define and solve problems).
• Demonstrates excellent organisational skills: organised and structured. Manage timelines to ensure that work is completed timeously.
• Multi-tasking ability and the ability to handle stressful situations, difficult stakeholders (internal and external) appropriately and superior levels of patience and conflict resolution abilities.
• Ability to network and gain support for proposed ideas.
