Diesel Mechanic Transport at Rand Water

Job Advert Summary

Rand Water is looking for candidate to assist in mechanical diagnosing, repairing and maintaining mechanical systems and components on heavy vehicles, plant and equipment throughout Rand Water’s area of distribution.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• N3 coupled with a recognized diesel motor mechanic apprenticeship
• 5 years post apprenticeship experience based mainly on heavy earthmoving equipment, cranes, TLB’s, front end loaders and trucks etc.
• Code 14 driver’s license coupled with a valid Professional Driving Permit with the ability to pass Rand Water’s internal driving test
• Plant and Equipment experience will be an advantage
• Knowledge of OSH Act and safe working procedures

Primary Duties

• Scheduled planned maintenance
• Respond to breakdowns and call outs
• Supervise and train subordinates
• Perform “standby duties” as required
