Re-Advert Junior Researcher Seed Pathology (Three (3) Year Fixed Term Contract) (Roodeplaat)
Conducts research in the field of vegetable seed health.
Initiates, manages and contributes towards national projects.
Identifies the need for human resources in projects and manages the allocated resources.
Is accountable for compiling and managing the project budget.
Actively sources new national research opportunities and writes proposals.
Manages data capturing, analysis, interpretations and recommendations.
Compiles detailed reports and seeks approval for final reports.
Renders diagnostic and advisory services at a national level.
Disseminates technology through peer-reviewed scientific articles, popular publications, manual productions, radio and TV talks, and other marketing events.
Requirements
MSc degree in Plant Pathology / Botany / Microbiology or related field.
Six months to one-year applicable experience in seed health or seed quality testing.
Experience in managing a research laboratory.
Practical experience in seed quality testing.
Experience in vegetable seed production and postharvest handling will be an added benefit.
Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.
