Receiving Coordinator and Expeditor at Howden

What needs to be done?

• Ensure the efficient and accurate receipt, verification, and processing of incoming goods, maintaining inventory accuracy and integrity.
• Coordinating with suppliers to expedite purchase orders, resolving delivery issues, and maintaining detailed records.
• Collaborates with internal teams to ensure seamless operations, adheres to safety guidelines and continuously seeks process improvement opportunities.
• Support overall operational efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s procurement and inventory management processes.
• Verify received goods against purchase orders and documentation, and update inventory systems and maintaining records.
• Providing timely updates and resolving discrepancies or issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with company policy and legislative requirements to ensure a safe working environment.

What do you need to bring? 

• Diploma/Certificate in Supply Chain Management/ Purchasing, Logistics or CIPC Diploma.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in logistics, or supply chain management roles, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or engineering environment.
• Demonstrated experience in logistics coordination and expediting
• Understanding of supply chain principles, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics operations.
• Familiar with transportation modes, customs regulations, and warehouse management processes.
• Understanding of supplier evaluation methods, performance metrics, and relationship management techniques.
• Computer literate and proficient in ERP Systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines.
• Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure.
