Recoveries Team Leader at Discovery Limited

Key Purpose 

• The primary purpose of the Discovery Insure Third-Party Recoveries Team Leader is to oversee and manage the daily operations of the recovery process, ensuring that both business and customer objectives are met.
• The role focuses on delivering maximum value to internal and external customers, while upholding Discovery Insure's core values and fostering a positive team environment.

 Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to 

• Oversee all management responsibilities within the scope of the role.
• Set clear performance goals and targets for each advisor.
• Prioritise tasks for self and others in line with objective and business requirements.
• Provide regular reporting to management, including updates on the operations dashboard and team performance metrics.
• Handle escalated queries from various internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all recovery escalations are managed and completed in the turnaround times.
• Conduct regular quality audits to ensure team adherence to standards.
• Coaching of team to enhance team performance.
• Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.
• Drive the achievement of departmental goals and targets through effective leadership.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with other insurance companies to support recovery efforts.

Education and Experience

•  Matric (Essential)
• 4 years’ minimum experience in a recoveries and/or liabilities and/or claims role within a short term insurance environment (Essential)
• 2 years’ minimum Team Leader experience in the Short Term Insurance sector (Essential)
• Relevant Degree (Advantageous)
