• Our client and a leader in the catering equipment industry, is looking for a Trade-Tested Refrigeration Technician to join their team in Durban!  The Purpose of the role is to ensure high-quality maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment while meeting efficiency standards.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

• N6 Technical Qualification
• Trade-Tested Refrigeration Certification

Experience:

• 2-3 years in a technical role (workshop/repairs)
• Hands-on experience with repairs, equipment assembly & quoting on parts (advantageous)

Skills & Knowledge:

• Technical repair skills (including refrigeration)
• Strong communication & customer service abilities
• Problem-solving mindset & teamwork approach
• Computer literacy (SAP, Excel, Word, Email)
• Knowledge of catering equipment (advantageous) & OHS regulations

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty machinery components
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for inspections and repairs
• Test and observe machinery using diagnostic tools (voltmeters, etc.)
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts for optimal performance
• Identify defects such as breakages or excessive wear
• Verify repairs by testing newly serviced equipment
• Provide accurate reports on diagnoses, failures, and recommended actions
• Maintain proper documentation and order necessary parts
• Deliver top-tier customer service by following processes meticulously
• Work standby and overtime when required
• Adhere to OHS standards and handle tools/equipment with care.
