The Department of Infrastructure , Western Cape Government has an opportunity for an individual to Maintain, repair and protect the Proclaimed Provincial Road Network within the designated area comprising Region 1.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); A minimum of 6 years relevant experience; A valid code B (or higher) driving licence with PDP.
Recommendation
Experience in the following: Civil construction activities; Operating minor and large construction machines; Management and supervision of staff; Proven computer literacy (MS Office).
Key Performance Areas
Management of various road worker related teams; Leading the execution of road construction/road maintenance operations; Assist in the undertaking of operational planning for the Proclaimed Road Network; Manage, plan and inspect road maintenance activities; Qualify and quantify material quantities for road maintenance activities; Define road defects during daily or weekly inspections and undertake corrective measures; Perform all administrative support functions pertaining to the road worker related teams; Safeguard work areas in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act; Handle emergency situations; Ensure that deadlines are met; Train supervisor and subordinates in work methods.
