    Regional Manager - Agri

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Marketing & Business Growth

    • Develop and execute strategies to expand crop insurance.
    • Lead marketing initiatives and coordinate Area Managers to promote products to Brokers and Agri Businesses.
    • Represent Santam at farmers’ meetings.
    • Build and maintain relationships with Broker agencies and Agri Businesses.
    • Manage crop insurance administration and broker support.
    • Drive cross-selling for crop and asset insurance. 

    Relationship Management

    • Foster strong partnerships with clients, brokers, and Agri Business managers.
    • Coordinate broker relationships across Santam.
    • Support Relationship Managers.
    • Monitor service delivery and ensure compliance with SLA and CSI requirements.
    • Manage regional operating expenses.

    Broker Practice Support

    • Assist brokers with training and operational support.
    • Guide crop insurance administration and policy issuance.
    • Approve and manage input cost applications.
    • Oversee premium collections.
    • Manage regional marketing initiatives and budgets. 

    Broker & Market Development

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
    • Acquire competitor business and grow Santam’s market share.
    • Ensure superior client service for brokers and end clients.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Agricultural degree or diploma with soil science and plant science as subjects
    • 7-10 years’ experience in an Agri Sales environment
    • 3 – 5 years of experience in managing a team

    • Strategic thinking and business development skills.
    • Strong relationship-building and negotiation abilities.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Financial acumen and budget management.
    • Ability to lead and coordinate teams effectively.
