    Regional Sales Manager Southern Africa

    The role

    As Regional Sales Manager Africa, you will become responsible for developing and driving marketing and sales strategies for the key accounts and countries assigned in the region of South Africa and East Africa. You will work closely with internal functions and business units to deliver the business plan and optimize the contribution margin.

    Your main responsibilities will include:

    • Selling the full product range from Bunge by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects, recommending solutions for food manufacturers sales channel.
    • Managing and developing new distribution channels in the assigned market for all of the Bunge product range.
    • Maintaining relationships with existing clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
    • Identifying product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors’ activity.
    • Preparing business intelligence reports for the territories assigned by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
    • Establishing 24 months rolling forecasting and developing annual sales plans.
    • Managing credit and contract risk.
    • Actively tracking and monitoring competition’s activities and pricing, market trend and related industry development.
    • Working closely with Innovation and Application teams to promote/introduce new products and commercialize the opportunities for the assigned countries and customers.

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a business-related field (an educational background as a food engineer would be ideal).
    • Demonstrated ability in sales of Food Ingredients in the South and/or East African region. If you have experience with specialty fats, we will call you first.
    • Residing near Johannesburg, or willing to relocate.
    • Experience with sales and CRM software like Salesforce and SAP.
    • Proficiency in English is a must, French language skills are beneficial.
    • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
    • Ability to think strategically and build strategic marketing plans.
    • Persistence and focus on achieving results, even when under pressure.
    • Depth and breadth of sales experience, particularly in the B2B space.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.
