Job Description
Strong quality patient care orientation
BLS competent
Supervise and orientate junior staff members and students
Perform teaching rounds with junior staff members and students
Competent in physical and obstetric assessment
Observe and manage patients in labour, delivery and postnatal care
Manage and care of Neonate
Assist with breastfeeding
Competent in administration of medication and IV medication
Provide health education to parents and patients
High energy levels and tolerance for stress/pressure
Problem analysis/solving skills and accurate record keeping
Adaptable and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
Ability to render basic and advanced nursing care without supervision

Job Requirements
Current Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse and Midwife
Minimum 2 -3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse and Midwife
Proven experience in a Maternity Unit of at least one year
Current BLS Certification
Previous experience in a Private Hospital is advantageous
Shift work compulsory
Work overtime when required
Be flexible and willing to assist in other departments
