Repair and Maintenance Engineer at DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Repair and Maintenance Engineer with strong knowledge of Dahua security systems, including CCTV, IP surveillance, access control, networking, and alarm systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and supporting Dahua-based security installations for commercial and residential clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair CCTV cameras, NVRs, DVRs, intercoms, and access control systems
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on installed security systems
• Configure and troubleshoot IP cameras, switches, routers, and network connectivity
• Install firmware upgrades and software updates for devices
• Conduct site inspections and technical fault-finding
• Support clients remotely and onsite with technical issues
• Ensure all installations comply with company and industry standards
• Maintain service records, maintenance reports, and repair documentation
• Provide technical support and training to clients when required
• Coordinate with suppliers and technical teams for warranty claims and replacements

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics, IT, Networking, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 2–5 years' experience working with Dahua or similar CCTV/security systems
• Strong understanding of IP networking and PoE systems
• Experience with CCTV troubleshooting and hardware repair
• Knowledge of access control, biometric, and alarm systems is advantageous
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to travel to customer sites
• Good communication and customer service skills

Preferred Skills

• Dahua certification or equivalent security certification
• Experience with Hikvision, Uniview, or ZKTeco systems
• Knowledge of fiber, wireless bridges, and structured cabling
• Basic Linux or Windows server knowledge
• Ability to work independently under pressure
