The candidate are expected to have a Bachelor’s degree and extensive qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis experience. Experience working for the HSRC and on previous projects, will be advantageous in to addition:
Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent degree in social sciences, humanities or a related field. A Master’s Degree is advantageous.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, w ith the ability to make sense of complex and diverse information and to identify patterns, trends, and insights
Demonstrated experience in qualitative research methods
Strong w riting skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports, articles, and other outputs that are clear, concise, and engaging
A passion for and commitment to advancing Women’s Empow erment and Gender Equality , and a w illingness to work on complex and challenging issues in a rigorous and thoughtful manner
Strong values and research ethics.
High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation;
Temperament to cope with a pressurised, deadline driven work environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
The scope of work and expectations of the Research Assistants will include the following, but is not limited to:
Conduct Key Informant Interviews
Coordinate Focus Group Discussions and Regional Workshops
Update stakeholder databases- provincial, national, and state-owned enterprises.
Complete provincial fieldwork and workshop reports.
Complete transcriptions, data cleaning and consolidation
Complete data analysis
Contribute to the drafting of project reports
Contribute to the policy draft & Implementation framew ork
