Requirements

• A PhD in Chemistry obtained in the past five years.
• At least 2-year postdoctoral experience in the research field.
• A track record of publications and/or conference contributions in energy storage.
• Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Experience in postgraduate student mentorship in advanced batteries.
• Skills in synthesis and characterization of electrode materials for energy storage.
• Proven ability to operate, maintain and train others in research equipment, including glovebox, battery testers, electrospinning, industrial microwave and/or chemical reactors, will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Provide research support to the SARChI Chair.
• Conduct interdisciplinary research in batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells.
• Publish at least two journal articles per year.
• Mentor / co-supervise postgraduate research students.
• Contribute to the activities of the School of Chemistry.
• Ability to work late hours and stringent deadlines, including weekends.
• The research position is a 3-year contract (renewable, subject to satisfactory progress and availability of fund). The contract value is negotiable depending on experience) but will not include any benefits or allowances.
