    Risk Analyst

    Job Description

    This role supports the SSA CRO and EMEA designated Risk Officers or ERM Partners on ERM developments including frameworks, emerging risks, planning, ORSA overall operations, and specific oversight.

    Core Duties:

    Operations & Governance Support

    • Support the coordination of the ERM approach towards business plan challenge and review, including, but not limited to, ORSA.
    • Work with the team to ensure that the Risk Management Frameworks remain fit for purpose and aligned with AIG and international standards and best practices.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive risk reporting, including use of risk management systems and data visualization tools, among which the Risk Register. 
    • Support the EMEA CRO in ensuring that regional that reporting is timely, accurate and covers all relevant elements of the framework to Management and external parties providing the adequate comprehensive view exposure of the organization.
    • Contribute to the administration of the planning of activities for ERM across the region in collaboration with relevant stakeholders (i.e. UK COE, Risk Officers, ERM Partners).
    • Support the effective operation of the governance bodies and produce all regular and ad hoc reporting from ERM on for the relevant governance bodies (e.g. RCC, BRC), regulators, and other key stakeholders.
    • Support the build-up of ERM’s body of knowledge
    • Maintain the structure to documents and records
    • Liaise with the appropriate counterparties on ERM Systems and Data ensuring their quality, fitness, and governance.
    • Support keeping the ERM budget.

    ERM Partner Support

    • Focusing on business strategies and opportunities within the segment through engagement with regional stakeholders
    • Defining risk management plans in alignment with their segment stakeholders and coordinate the cascading of relevant activities, analyses and assessments (including specific targeted deep dives) and needs to cluster Risk Officers;
    • Supporting ERM’s centralized resource planning and deployment to ensure service continuity to all segments;
    • Serving as the 'go-to' point of contact for the segment in coordination with the local risk officers within each cluster;
    • Providing deep knowledge and acting as a partner for the respective segment to ensure optimal level of ERM support;
    • Providing a consolidated risk profile of the segment at an EMEA level as needed;
    • Identifying areas for enhancement and support in providing insights on risks and identifying alignment and optimization opportunities across the various EMEA clusters;
    • Being involved in strategic initiatives, including but not limited to development of new products, segments, client analysis which involve any aspects of risk identification and measurement;
    • Serve as an adviser providing complementary skills-set to risk for challenge and reviews across the region;
    • Communicate and engage with regulators, external auditors, group experts, and the relevant committees on risk topics as and when requested.

    Experience & Qualifications Required

    • Honours degree in a relevant subject
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MIS tools such as PowerBI/Tableau
    • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written and an ability to use your own initiative and prioritize.
    • Strong experience of drafting papers, with an ability to describe complex ideas in a simple way, including clear recommendations and conclusions
    • The successful candidate must have a Financial Services/Regulated background.

    Knowledge and practical experience of:

    • Non-Life insurance products, e.g. A&H, Employee Liability, Personal Lines, Travel, Financial Lines, Casualty, Property among others.
    • Developing and implementing ORSA processes
    • Designing and deploying risk management tools including MI, KRIs, Risk Reviews
    • Operational Risk Management Processes
    • Audit and compliance processes
    • Financial statement disclosures
    • Familiarity with risk-to-capital modeling:
    • Awareness of the uses and limitations of statistical approaches
    • Modeling awareness
