Road Transport Management Intern -Logistics at Woodlands Dairy

Job Description

• We are seeking a motivated Transport Intern to support the Transport and Logistics team with daily coordination, administration, and compliance activities. This role offers hands-on exposure to transport operations, route planning, and fleet management within a fast-paced environment.

Key Performance Areas:

• Assist with daily route planning and load scheduling under supervision
• Capture and update trip information including pick-ups, deliveries, ETAs and PODs
• Communicate with drivers regarding departures, delays, incidents, and delivery confirmations
• Prepare and maintain transport documentation such as delivery notes, trip sheets and invoices
• Monitor fleet utilisation and support reporting on KPIs and operational performance
• Support compliance processes including permits, vehicle files and SOP adherence
• Escalate service issues, safety risks, and customer complaints to supervisors
• Provide general administrative support to the Transport/Logistics

Skills & Knowledge:

• Diploma in Transport Management
• Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Outlook, Word) with strong data capturing ability
• Strong communication skills and professional telephone etiquette
• Attention to detail with good document control practices
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks effectively
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
• Team player with the ability to follow instructions and take feedback
• Basic understanding of health and safety principles
• Interest in transport operations, logistics and customer service
