Roads Site Agent (ECSA/SACPCMP Registered) - Construction Industry
RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established civil engineering contractor with a proven track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across South Africa, is currently seeking a professionally registered Site Agent to lead the delivery of major national roads projects in the Northern Cape.
Responsibilities:
Manage all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specified quality and safety standards.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee project resources, including labour, plant, subcontractors, and materials.
Liaise closely with the client, engineers, and consultants to maintain strong professional relationships and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
Prepare and manage construction programmes, cost reports, and progress documentation.
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Lead, mentor, and develop site teams to achieve performance and productivity targets.
Manage contract administration, variations, and claims in collaboration with the project manager and quantity surveying team.
Drive continuous improvement in construction methodologies and quality management systems.
Requirements:
BTech/BEng/National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng/Pr Techni Eng registration with ECSA or Pr CM registration with SACPCMP (essential)
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in civil construction, with at least 5 years in a Site Agent or Senior Site Management role on large-scale national or equivalent road projects
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary road construction projects including earthworks, layerworks, drainage, and surfacing
Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., GCC 2015, FIDIC, or NEC)
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Valid driver’s licence
Willingness to be based on site in the Northern Cape
