    Resident Engineer - Consulting Industry

    Job Description

    • RPO Recruitment's client, a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an Engineer’s Representative for a 12-month Labour-Intensive Construction (LIC) bridge project in the Eastern Cape.
    • The successful candidate will be based on-site and oversee the implementation of bridge works in accordance with LIC standards.  This is a 12 month limited duration contract.  Accommodation will be provided on site and travel expenses will be reimbursed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee daily site activities, ensuring quality assurance, accurate quantity tracking, and verification.
    • Evaluate and approve method statements, work programmes, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) plans.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to address and resolve project issues.
    • Prepare and manage progress reports, payment certificates, and project close-out documentation.

    Requirements:

    • BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering from a recognised South African institution
    • Professionally registered with ECSA as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng
    • At least 8 years of relevant post-graduate site experience
    • In possession of Labour-Intensive Construction unit standard qualification (NQF Level 7, SAQA-accredited)
    • Successfully executed at least two bridge construction projects in a lead/site representative capacity

    • RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established civil engineering contractor with a proven track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across South Africa, is currently seeking a professionally registered Site Agent to lead the delivery of major national roads projects in the Northern Cape.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specified quality and safety standards.
    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee project resources, including labour, plant, subcontractors, and materials.
    • Liaise closely with the client, engineers, and consultants to maintain strong professional relationships and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
    • Prepare and manage construction programmes, cost reports, and progress documentation.
    • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop site teams to achieve performance and productivity targets.

    Requirements:
