    Sales Area Director, Sub-Saharan Africa, EMEA Region

    Purpose of the role

    • Being part of the EMEA regional management team, your duties will include the strategic management of the SSA regional. This will include activities that provide sales and service leadership to staff in the area, technical knowledge, and support of process, mechanical, operational, maintenance perspective. The focus is to increase market share by pursuing new market opportunities and promote the retention of aftermarket business within the region.

    Your responsibilities

    Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Participate in the strategic management business in region of EMEA region, monthly management reporting etc.
    • Develop, train, and lead the site sales support personnel.
    • Business analysis to establish white spots and potential business development.
    • Promote products/services in the region to all customers.
    • Drive site support teams to defend existing installation base and site sales to conversions.
    • Support inventory management to ensure competitive lead times on aftermarket parts and conversion opportunities.
    • Collaborate with global product line managers (GPLM), global service line managers (GSLM), product sales, service sales and internal sales support to develop winning proposals.
    • Develop and implement relationship management plans for complex existing customer accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision-makers and influencers within the customer organization.
    • Manage ongoing relationships with identified customer segments to ensure their needs are met, providing themes, summary analyses, and recommendations for changes based on customer input.
    • Develop and implement a relationship management plan for strategic, complex potential accounts to build key relationships at local and global.
    • Travel to customer sites and engineering firms to troubleshoot, consult on system design, support start-ups as necessary, and ensure proper aftermarket support is in place, including warranty/quality issue resolution.

    What you bring

    • NHD, BSC or B-Eng in Engineering
    • At least 12 years’ experience within the mining & mineral processing industry.
    • At least 8 years’ experience in the sales product line.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a business development role.
    • At least 5 years’ as a departmental leader.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, co-workers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Proven negotiation and influencing skills – both external and internal.
    • Team player, able to balance multiple team memberships.                        
    • Good organization, multitasking and time management skills.
    • Customer relationship management system experience,
    • Business ERP systems experience, Accpac, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP etc.
    • Previous P&L management experience will be advantageous.
    • Experience as a technology supplier to the mining and mineral processing industry is essential.
