    Sales Consultant

    Job Description

    • Our client, a leading manufacturing / packaging concern is looking to hire a technically and commercially minded Sales Consultant based in Cape Town
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: (amongst other duties)   

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Day-to-day calling on customers and management of identified national key accounts in conjunction with relevant salesperson(s) from regions
    • Sourcing of new business from Key Accounts across the divisions in conjunction with the relevant regional sales team
    • Managing sales effectively ensuring that sales budgets are beaten
    • Developing effective relationships with new and current Key Customers
    • Identifying and creating new opportunities in the industry
    • Managing and coordinating all relevant communication and interaction with Key Accounts
    • Proactively monitoring sales, customers and competitors and giving feedback on all sales activity and margins.
    • Presenting professional price proposals in writing to all customers with assistance from relevant regional salespeople
    • Reporting weekly and monthly on sales and prospects and interactions to regions and nationally on email
    • Completing of all documentation relevant to agreements with Key Accounts
    • Keeping a database of all communications across divisions for the relevant Key Accounts
    • Interfacing with production and planning and Design departments for benefit of Key Accounts
    • Implementing and maintaining effective ISO 9001 operating procedures and work instructions
    • Communicating regularly with the team involved in managing the relevant Key Accounts, ensuring swift reaction to the needs of the account
    • Developing relevant sales budgets in conjunction with the regions and Key Executives
    • Ensuring that all stock is managed effectively and that obsolence costs are minimized
    • Ensuring that all key account and customer events are organized and implemented and coordinated

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education and Experience:

    • BCom degree or related (packaging, sales or financial) tertiary qualification
    • Must have a clear understanding of product costs and a basic manufacturing Income Statement
    • Computer Literacy (EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT)
    • Advanced EXCEL advantageous
    • Applicant must reside in Cape Town
    • Relevant work experience (Minimum of 2 years)

    • Technically minded
    • Lateral thinking ability, analytical thinking ability and ability to go after things proactively
    • Innovativeness, creativeness
    • Dynamic interpersonal skills and presence
    • Ability to organize and manage own time and processes and co-ordinate a team – self-discipline
    • Ability to multitask and manage various projects and teams for Key Accounts
    • Ability to communicate articulately and effectively at all levels
    • Ability to “hard -sell” and influence others at all levels
    • Ability to deal with all levels of employees including senior management
