    Sales Manager – Life Insurance Industry

    Key Performance Areas.

    Amongst others, the key performance areas of the position will include:

    • Managing the administration of the life insurance branch.
    • Leading and managing business development strategy in the area.
    • Leading and managing the marketing and sales function in the branch.
    • Ensuring achievement of business objectives.
    • Leading and managing client servicing strategy and operations.
    • Financial management in the branch.
    • Ensuring governance and compliance to all regulatory prescripts.
    • Managing the life insurance representatives in the branch:
      • building and leading and managing a high-performance marketing and sales team;
      • ensuring that the sales team (life insurance representatives) is optimally trained;
      • ensuring the achievement of sales targets by the sales team;
      • ensuring and monitoring total compliance by the sales team in respect of FAIS/FICA/LTIA.

    Requisite Qualifications, Experience and Skills.

    Qualifications:

    • A minimum of matric (grade 12).
    • A suitable industry relevant qualification as per the requirements of the Prudential authority.
    • Compliance with the prescripts of FAIS legislation for registration as a Fit and Proper individual.
    • Preferably have a postgraduate business qualification, e.g. an MBA.
    • Completion of necessary regulatory examinations.
    • A relevant additional district qualification will be advantageous.

    Experience:

    • Solid experience (3 to 5 years) in the marketing and sales of life insurance products.
    • Proven and demonstrable success in achieving sales targets in the marketing and sales of life insurance products.
    • Experience in managing a team of life insurance representatives.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Well-developed management and leadership skills.
    • Well-developed sales and marketing skills.
    • Solid people management skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work at all levels in an organisation.
    • Effective team coordination abilities.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Good influencing and persuading skills.
    • Well-developed administration skills.
