    Sales Manager- Upper Highway KZN

    About the role

    • Promoting a good image of the Shoprite brand is important to you, which is why you work hard to achieve your department goals by following and implementing company standards (including health and safety requirements), driving customer satisfaction and profitability targets and proactively managing, monitoring and maintaining effective sales of fruit, veg, flowers and plant products, people management, capacity requirements, shop floor presentation aligned to merchandise plans and loss control.

    What you'll do    

    • Manage customer experience and engagement
    • Sales Department people leadership, development, management and administration
    • Sales Department P&L management and reporting
    • Sales Department merchandising, pricing and promotional activity
    • Sales Department stock availability, quality, rotation and loss prevention (money and stock)
    • Sales Department housekeeping and compliance with health & safety, food safety and supermarket operational company policy and procedures
    • Oversee staff scheduling and WFM edits to ensure operational standards are met whilst simultaneously ensuring effective cost management
    • Expense management and control
    • Maintain service levels and operational standards
    • Report analysis and actioning thereof
    • Management and overseeing of promotional activity   

    What you bring    

    • Grade 12  - essential
    • Retail Management Diploma or equivalent - Desirable
    • Two years supervisory experience in a retail environment
    • Driver's Licence
    • Computer Literate - MS Office Basic, Supermarket systems and technologies
    • Knowledge and understanding of:
    • Store operations management, promotional planning, merchandising, and stock handling principles
    • Financial management and reporting - sales target, profitability and budget planning & control
    • Food Safety & hygiene and the OHSA
