Sales Representative: Schools, Libraries & Special Sales at Media24 (Pty) Ltd

This leading South African book publisher and distributor requires the services of a Sales representative for Jonathan Ball Publishers Division, based in Johannesburg.

Job Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of books
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to foster good relations with customers and colleagues
• Strong interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills
• Computer literacy is essential
• Sales experience to schools and libraries would be advantageous
• The candidate must be prepared to work out of office hours when required and represent the company in a beneficial light
• A valid code 08 driver’s licence and availability to travel is essential
• A matric certificate
• A relevant qualification is preferred
• Must be self-motivated, pro-active, and able to work independently
• A good understanding of the school and library business
• Ability to work under pressure and handle the demands of this environment
• Good negotiation skills
• Strong presentation skills

Duties would include:

• Driving sales of our books to our customer base
• Special focus to grow sales in Children’s books in schools and libraries
• Cold calling
• Managing corporate sales
• Monthly reporting of sales activity
• Developing & maintaining relationships with schools and libraries
• Customer Database development and management
• Creating of promotional activity with schools and libraries
