LLB with communication, journalism or media-related modules in at least the first year of study.
Alternatively:
LLB with work experience in media law.
LLB with no related communication, journalism, and media-related fields, in which case the requesting campus is to provide support to the candidate via the PM and/or Head of School for Humanities and Social Sciences on specialised media-related aspects of the module.
BA Honours or BSocSci (Bachelor of Social Sciences) in communication, journalism, media law or media-related fields.
LLB AND BA Honours or BSocSci (Bachelor of Social Sciences) in communication, journalism, media law or media-related fields.
Minimum Experience Required:
Experience in teaching law modules at tertiary level.
Experience in teaching law modules for LEAD (Legal Education and Development).Work experience as a practicing attorney, advocate, legal advisor, magistrate, or otherwise in the legal profession.
Work experience in one of the parastatals or Chapter 9 Institutions as a legal advisor; assistant; commissioner at CCMA, a Bargaining Council (BC); a legal advisor for a registered trade union and/or trade union federation; or any other legal position held.
Lecturing experience in media law and ethics/ media and communication/media law/ ethics and communication.
A combination of journalism and/or advertising and/or PR industry experience with media law practitioner experience within the related field. Related experience within the communications sector that required engagement with Media Law.
