    School Sales Consultant

    Introduction    

    • Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for business development, promoting and selling of and to partner titles to schools, booksellers, and other customers to meet sales budgets. The role also entails organising and conducting product presentations to educators, calling on schools, key booksellers, and libraries to generate sales, and coordinating provincial activities.

    Specification    
    As the School Sales Consultant you will be responsible for:

    • Achieving sales targets for front- and backlist titles
    • Understanding OUP’s position in the market
    • Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Calling on schools, district education officials, key booksellers and libraries to generate sales
    • Conducting product presentations and facilitating workshops for educators

    Requirements    
    Qualifications & Experience:

    • A national diploma or equivalent in Education, Marketing or Sales
    • Extensive sales experience
    • A thorough understanding of the South African school curriculum
    • In-depth knowledge of the education and book trade market
    • Relationship building skills
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills
    • Planning and organizing skills
    • Report writing skills
    • Ability to operate within a team
    • Computer literate with MS Office, PowerPoint and Word
    • Digital Sales experience will be an added advantage
    • Valid driver’s license essential
