Security Engineer at Datacentrix

Datacentrix Cape Town is looking for a Security Engineer. The role is timprove their security footprint in Cape Town and increase service offering in the security space. Candidates need thave strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.

Critical Requirements Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

• Expertise in anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls and content filtering
• Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods
• Expertise in designing secure networks, systems and application architectures
• Disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies and methods
• Planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures
• System administration, supporting multiple platforms and applications
• Expertise with mobile code, malicious code, and anti-virus software

The IT security engineer should alshave experience with and knowledge of:

• cloud platform as a service (PaaS) security (AWS, Azure)

General skills include:

• The ability tthrive in fast-paced, high-stress situations
• The ability tcommunicate network security issues tpeers and management
• Fortigate NSE certification
• CISSP (or studying towards)
• Vendor Antivirus certifications
• CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) (or studying towards)

Primary Role Accountabilities:

• Antivirus installation, Management, Reporting
• EDR Management and Reproting
• Threat analysis
• Firewall Administration (fortigate, PalAlt, others would be an advantage)
• Firewall Reporting (fortigate, PalAlt, others would be advantages)
• Develop and carry out information security plans and policies
• Develop strategies trespond tand recover from a security breach
• Develop or implement open-source/third-party tools tassist in detection, prevention and analysis of security threats
• Awareness training of the workforce on information security standards, policies, and best practices
• Installation and use of firewalls, data encryption and other security products and procedures (Mcafee, Fortigate)
• Conduct periodic network scans tfind any vulnerability
• Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, through the use of software that detects intrusions and anomalous system behavior
• Investigate security breaches (fortianalyser, FortiSIEM or similar)
• Lead incident response, including steps tminimize the impact and then conducting a technical and forensic investigation inthow the breach happened and the extent of the damage
