Security Monitoring and Triage Specialist at Ovations Technologies

Job Description:

• This is a 5 – month renewable contract with our client in the Fintech industry.
• We are looking for a Senior SOC Threat Analyst to join our Security Operations Centre. In this hybrid role, you will be on the front lines of defence—detecting, analysing, and prioritizing real-time security incidents, driving proactive threat hunting, and ensuring high-priority threats are rapidly mitigated.

Key Responsibilities

• Threat Detection & Real-Time Analysis: Monitor, analyse, and prioritize security incidents in real-time across enterprise SIEM platforms.
• Proactive Threat Hunting: Conduct deep-dive threat hunting and validation to uncover hidden risks, advanced persistent threats (APTs), and vulnerabilities.
• Incident Escalation & Validation: Rapidly identify and filter out false positives while escalating high-priority, critical threats for swift remediation.
• KQL & SIEM Optimization: Utilize Kusto Query Language (KQL) to build custom queries, correlation rules, and dashboards to enhance threat visibility.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience: 5–10 years of hands-on experience working within a Security Operations Centre (SOC) with a dedicated focus on threat hunting and validation.
• Education: 3-Year IT-related Degree.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in KQL (Kusto Query Language) and extensive experience monitoring enterprise SIEM platforms.
• Required Certifications: Must hold Microsoft SC-200 / SC-400 series (e.g., SC-200/SC-400/SC-100/CySA track) and CompTIA CySA+.
