The Semi-skilled Boilermaker assist with the repair, fabrication and restoration of vehicle body components and metal structure. Working under the guidance of qualified artisans, the incumbent preparation, cutting, welding , fitting and panel repairs to ensure vehicles are restored to manufacture and company quality standards
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist qualified boilermakers and panel beaters with vehicle body repairs.
Remove, repair, reshape, and replace damaged metal panels and body components.
Cut, grind, drill, bend, and fabricate metal parts using workshop equipment.
Perform basic welding (MIG, TIG, spot welding, or ARC where trained and authorised).
Straighten damaged vehicle frames, panels, and structural components using approved repair methods.
Fit replacement panels, brackets, and fabricated components.
Prepare metal surfaces for welding, painting, and finishing.
Operate workshop tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
Assist in dismantling and reassembling vehicle body components.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
Identify damaged components and report additional repairs required.
Ensure repairs comply with quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and customer requirements.
Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Support workshop productivity by completing allocated work within agreed turnaround times.
Requirements:
Grade 12
Clean criminal record
2 - 3 Years experience as a semiskilled Boilermaker within the Panel beating industry
