Area of Specialization :

• To provide the organization with objective assurance on hazardous location compliance to statutory requirements and technical expertise by providing direction and guidance on the testing of electrical equipment and issuance of certificate of compliance

Minimum Requirements

Qualification(s):

• B Tech/National Higher Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering at NQF 7 with 360 credits
• Plus
• Master Installation Electrical Registration

Experience

• 5 years’ Power Plant and experience in an Electrical environment

Knowledge

• Basic safety, health, environment (SHE)
• Plant safety regulations authorised coach
• Registered with the Department of Labour as Master Installation Electrician
• Advanced Hazardous location training competency certificate

 
Key Responsibilities

• Provide hazardous location (HazLoc) compliance assurance
• Ensure equipment and employee safety
• Conduct quality control inspection
• Provide hazardous location on job training
• Investigate recurring defects
• Assist and advise relevant employees on maintaining hazardous location compliance
• Attend hazardous location related meetings
• Coordinate and control allocated team
