Senior Building Inspector at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• A relevant National Diploma qualification as stipulated in the national building regulations;
• Five (5) to Eight (8) years’ experience as a Building Inspector;
• Eligibility for registration as a Peace Officer (Law Enforcement Officer);
• Knowledge of the National Building Regulations Act, Building Standards Act and all other applicable legislation;
• Proficiency in the full MS Suite; and
• A valid Code B Drivers’ License

Key Performance Areas

• Supervise the Building Inspectorate;
• Undertake Inspectorate duties involved in the building development process;
• Perform site/ counter duties;
• Undertake site inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legislation;
• Perform legal administrative functions; and
• Manage staff administration
