    Senior Business Process Engineer

    Purpose of the Job:

    Identify the current state of processes; elicit their useful and harmful attributes; document models of the processes; and facilitate stakeholder groups to consensus regarding new business process designs.

    Analyse and identify opportunities for business process design and improvements by using best practice to carry out business process analysis, re-engineering, process measurements and change management activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Challenging the business view of process: Be an agent for change and drive outside-in thinking and customer views over internal challenges. A strong appetite for digitalisation and automation of activities must be evident in the applicant
    • Facilitating workshops with all business areas to challenge, design, document and maintain business processes including process Maps and Work Instructions in the Process Repository. The Notation must comply with BPMN2.0
    • The incumbent is also required to be skilled in compiling personas, customer journey maps, stakeholder maps and empathy maps along with business process activity maps. They must be able to clearly articulate the purpose of each of these tools and provide examples of their use in real-world situations
    • Conducting internal process audits according to the defined schedule and implement Preventative Actions based on the outcomes of the TCF feedback framework
    • Ongoing liaison with staff and management within the organisation to identify potential process improvements and implement the agreed solutions. This includes special projects
    • Ongoing transfer of skill to users for all documented processes through training and accreditation in conjunction with The PPS Academy
    • Providing first line technical support to users in the business processes. This may include evening or after hours and weekend work when required
    • Provide organisational support by testing new or improved line of business systems as well as defects and ensuring that a full impact analysis is conducted on business processes with the goal to ensuring that work is conducted in the most effective and efficient manner supporting business objectives

    Formal Qualifications:

    • Matric
    • National Diploma in Engineering, or B-tech in engineering or similar. Business Analysts or Test Analysts who have experience in Process Analysis and Design also qualify
    • Certified ISO9000:2008 internal auditor
    • Lean Six Sigma Yellow belt or above

    Experience and Knowledge:

    • At least 3 years’ working experience within a business process or reengineering environment

    Strategic Orientation:

    • Knowledge and understanding of the PPS vision, strategy and member value proposition
    • Acts with confidence and works independently most of the time

    Communication:

    • Articulate and communicates in a logical way and structures information to meet the needs and understanding of intended audiences
    • Expresses opinions, information and key points of view clearly and assertively
    • Anticipates and responds appropriately to the needs, reactions and feedback of an audience
    • Exceptional networker

    Commercial Acumen:

    • Demonstrates awareness of market trends and opportunities and keeps up to date with competitor developments impacting area of responsibility
    • Proven ability to maximise impact of stakeholder and Professional Associations events

    Computer Literacy:

    • Latest MS Office package, particularly Excel, Word and Power-point
    • Visio, iServer, GIT Lab knowledge an advantage

    Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Skills:
