Senior Buyer at BASF

Duties will include the following-

Negotiating the pricing for materials and services

• Monitor pricing to ensure they are not adjusted without notice. Liaise with Procurement Manager, analyse pricing and act accordingly
• Keep the procurement RM specification master updated and complete
• Run daily open purchase order reports to maintain control
• Help create and maintain the necessary controls and systems to achieve the company's strategy in respect of BBBEE for the meeting of targets for “Preferential Procurement”
• Managing inventory levels by ensuring right level of stock at the right time
• Capturing and processing reports and information in SAP
• Procurement of chemicals
• Secure supply which matches the needs of Chemetall for materials and services, thus ensuring product suita-bility and continuity of supply
• Coordinate and negotiate key supply programs

What We Expect

• Degree or Diploma in Purchasing Management
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in same/similar position
• Project management skills
• Good analytical and negotiating skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good IT skills in an integrated system environment (SAP)
• Good communication and presentation skills, ability to converse at all levels
• Cost and budget management experience
• Business reporting skills
