    Senior Client Investment Specialist - Talent Pool

    Introduction

    Generating income on own, and assisting principal investment consultants with generating income on their portfolio of consulting clients, to contribute to the profitability of Alexander Forbes; by providing a professional, quality service and consulting advice to clients; client satisfaction, retention and expansion. Consults to a portfolio of own clients and assists principal investment consultants on their client portfolios. Co-ordinates the work of junior consultants supporting the servicing of own and principal investment consultant clients. Manages the relationships across clients in a “trusted adviser” role, assists with managing profitability, business at risk, upsell and cross sell opportunities. Provides mentorship and growth opportunities to developing talent. Risk awareness and the management of advice risk is key to the position.

    Formal Qualifications & Experience

    • Qualified Actuary or senior actuarial student and/or CFA Charterholder or having passed Level 1 or 2, or other equivalent qualification e.g. CAIA
    • FAIS compliant and accredited (Representative)
    • Knowledge of and experience in the asset consulting side of a range of clients, specifically retirement funds but insurance companies, medical schemes, trusts, foundations, etc. an advantage. Knowledge of and experience in the liability side of a range of clients an advantage

    Key Resposibilities

    Client Relationship

    • Secretarial functions relating to meeting attendance and minutes where required
    • Keep clients updated with developments in investments
    • Ensure that the clients’ investment strategies remains appropriate for the clients
    • Provide trustee investments training as and when required.
    • Conducting presentations and workshops for clients
    • Maintaining ongoing relationships with all clients
    • Following up queries and resolving problems of clients
    •  Daily communication and correspondence with clients, both formal and informal
    • Ensuring timeous response to client queries and requests within the client portfolio
    • Maintaining existing client base
    • Ongoing client contact and interaction
    • Liaising with investment managers and other external parties when necessary
    • Keeping abreast of all investments developments / self development
    • Managing the entire process of workflow within the portfolio
    • Delivering of service and commitments to the client
    • Building maintaining a trust relationship with client
    • Remaining client focused at all times

    Technical and behavioural competencies

    • Strong knowledge of the Investments Industry
    • Strong knowledge of Client Services
    • Advanced relationship building & networking skills at all levels
    • Excellent oral & written communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task and delegate where appropriate
