Senior Data Engineer at GBS

• In this pivotal role, you will lead the design, development, and optimisation of cloud-based data platforms and pipelines — enabling business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision-making at scale. You’ll play a critical part in modernising our data infrastructure, migrating legacy systems, and championing engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust end-to-end data solutions from architecture through to deployment.
• Lead the migration of on-premise data systems to Microsoft Azure.
• Promote engineering excellence by establishing secure, scalable, and maintainable data practices.
• Guide and mentor technical teams while fostering knowledge sharing and innovation.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to align data solutions with evolving business needs.
• Explore and introduce emerging technologies like Microsoft Fabric and Salesforce Data Cloud where applicable.

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years' experience in data engineering or related technical fields.
• Proven expertise with Azure data services, particularly Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and ideally Microsoft Fabric.
• Demonstrated experience leading data migration projects to Azure.
• Strong background in designing sophisticated, scalable, and secure data architectures.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud highly advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to multiple cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Experience with batch and streaming data workflows.
• Solid understanding of data governance, quality assurance, and security standards.
