Purpose of the Job

• As a Senior Project Manager at GBS Holdings, you will take ownership of complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through to successful delivery. You will apply advanced project management and business analysis skills to shape project scopes, develop business cases, and ensure that all solutions align with company goals. You will lead the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing, deployment, and post-implementation review—using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies where appropriate.
• This is a hands-on role requiring leadership, strategic insight, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, resources, and competing priorities to deliver business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of strategic projects across multiple departments
• Coordinate internal teams and third-party vendors for successful project delivery
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
• Drive the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
• Allocate and manage project resources efficiently
• Develop and monitor comprehensive project plans and schedules
• Manage project scope, timelines, and budgets through change control processes
• Track and report project performance using appropriate tools and KPIs
• Conduct functional and user acceptance testing to validate solutions
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and audit-ready
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior project staff
• Conduct regular reviews to assess project progress and implement improvements
• Oversee post-project evaluations and ensure knowledge transfer
• Attend industry events and training to stay current with best practices
• Perform other related duties as required by the business

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)
• A relevant degree or diploma
• PMP / PRINCE2 certification is highly advantageous
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role
• Experience with business analysis and stakeholder engagement at a senior level
• Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall project methodologies
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools

Job Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
• 5–7 years proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment.
• Proficiency in business analysis techniques, such as process modelling, data analysis, and requirements management.
• Solid understanding of business processes, systems, and technologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse and Senior Management.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with project management principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) are a plus.

• Demonstrated experience leading data migration projects to Azure.
• Strong background in designing sophisticated, scalable, and secure data architectures.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud highly advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to multiple cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP).
• Experience with batch and streaming data workflows.
• Solid understanding of data governance, quality assurance, and security standards.

Your key responsibilities include:

Compliance and Risk Management

• Maintain the compliance and risk management framework and operating manuals in accordance with legislation and government policy.
• Establish and oversee compliance management plans and monitoring systems to ensure adherence to laws and regulations.
• Identify legislative risks, focusing on areas such as financial services, POPI, and Information Security.
• Monitor industry developments and provide advice and training on compliance matters.
• Manage and report compliance breaches and exposures, preparing reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Liaise with regulators and maintain departmental structures and resources.
• Support the development of risk management policies and procedures
• Prepare and submit all required documentation to the FSCA, including necessary updates to registers.
• Assess compliance levels and implement processes and workflows to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Compile and analyse risk reports for senior management.

Reporting

• Provide reports to management regarding areas of non-compliance.
• Conduct meetings with relevant stakeholders to discuss compliance concerns.
• Prepare reports on the status of compliance efforts
• Maintain records of compliance activities

Communication

• Develop regular communication methods across all operational departments.
• Collaborate with sales, support, customer service, and project management teams to resolve compliance issues.
• Maintain relationships with external compliance firms.
• Act as an internal advisor on compliance matters during business decisions and new project developments
• Assist with being an internal liaison between the HOD and the other departments identifying issues of non-compliance and assisting with remedial action.

International Compliance

• Assist with new business ventures that require alignment with international regulations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A legal qualification (LLB) is essential
• Must be an Admitted Attorney
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of industry-related experience within short-term or long-term insurance, preferably within a financial services provider.
• Previous experience in a call centre environment is considered beneficial.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, as outlined in the Compliance Universe document.
• Proven process management skills and sound knowledge of audit methodologies and techniques.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail for analysing reports, identifying issues in working processes, and making recommendations for improvements.
