Senior Data Warehouse Developer at Allan Gray Proprietary Limited

Job Responsibilities

• Work alongside a team of brilliant developers, testers, BA's, Architects in a mature scrum environment
• Help shape the future of the data warehouse and BI space in the organization by contributing ideas to bring in more modern and cutting-edge technologies
• Enhance and maintain the current data warehouse environment, by building high quality solutions
• Adhere to set industry and Allan Gray architecture and development standards
• Build integration solutions using T-SQL, SSIS
• Testing and deployment of new solutions
• Opportunity to mentor junior and graduate developers.
• Contribute towards migration from on-premise to the cloud (AWS)

Requirements

• Solid SQL experience (stored procedures, UDF’s, T-SQL, performance tuning and optimization, RDBMS, error handling and logging, etc.) is essential
• Experience with data integration, validation and reconciliation (SSIS, C#, Scala).
• Expert knowledge of reporting technologies (SSRS, Qlikview or similar)
• Experience with creating and maintaining cubes (SSAS) would be advantageous
• Working experience with relational and dimensional database structures.
• Working experience with design and development of data marts and data warehouses.
• Experience in interacting with business users to understand requirements and producing solutions
• Experience with Jira and GITLab would be an advantage.
• Exposure to PostreSQL and PowerBI would be an advantage

Education
