    Senior Debtors Controller

    Job Purpose

    • Interstat is looking for an experienced Senior Debtors Controller to take ownership of the full debtors function. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing credit risk, driving collections, and leading a team of debtors’ clerks to ensure strong cash flow and compliance with credit policies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and control the full debtors’ book, including overdue and high-risk accounts
    • Ensure timely collection of outstanding balances and reduce debtor days
    • Review and approve credit applications and credit limit increases
    • Perform ongoing credit risk assessments in line with company policy
    • Liaise with CGIC, Experian, attorneys, branches, and internal stakeholders
    • Authorise the release and holding of customer accounts
    • Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of debtors’ clerks
    • Prepare accurate debtor reconciliations and age analysis reports
    • Support management with reporting and insights on debtor performance

    Job Requirements

    • Diploma or Degree in Finance or Accounting
    • Minimum of 5 year’s experience in a senior debtors or credit control role
    • Demonstrated experience managing a team
    • Strong knowledge of CGIC, Experian, and credit risk management
    • Experience with Sage X3 will be advantageous
