What you’ll be doing:

• Establish and implement server infrastructure best practices.
• Create/maintain server operating systems, primarily Windows 2012 and CentOS (Linux), on physical and virtual platforms. (Local and Offsite)
• Maintain network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
• Secure network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
• Manage existing storage systems and management tools. Recommend new solutions that can make the team more efficient.
• Maintain web servers, databases, networks, new installations, migrations, and security within our VDC environments
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; Participating in professional organisations.
• Protects organisation's value by keeping information confidential.
• Accomplish organisation goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Off-shift coverage will be required for on-call support of systems and maintenance work in supported change windows.
• Ensure that team complies with SOX requirements and control points.
• Assist management with enforcing current policies and procedures and establishing new ones where required.
• Provide quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer enquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints. Escalate to management if required.
• Provide advice and guidance to colleagues regarding incidents.
• Extensive experience with Linux & .Net Web Hosting Environment. This can be either in the development or sysadmin
• Developing and maintaining Web hosting infrastructure
• Strong experience with MS SQL and MySQL (MariaDB and MongoDB)
• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration understanding PHP and Apache this includes IIS web environment
• Collaborate with developers in DevOps, in other teams and the QA team to do website deployment from QA environment to Live environment.
   

Who you are:

• 5+ years’ combined experience working in IT environment understating and implementation of the below fundamentals.
• 5+ years with a successful track record in Linux and IIS Web hosting support
• 2+ years with a successful track record in Virtualisation & Cloud Computing
• Grade 12
• Linux CentOs & RedHat (Sysadmin Support)
• ICT or Computer Science degree/diploma
• Basic understanding of Pointing DNS for websites and renewing website certificates
• Dockerizing Applications, understanding application requirements
• Understanding/Experience with Kubernetes
• Good working knowledge of CI/CD Tools (Jenkins,Ansible,Azure DevOps etc)
• Experience in managing instances on GCP/AWS & Azure
• Creation of new scalable instances on GCP/AWS & Azure
• Managing Security Groups & Policies on GCP/AWS & Azure
• Implementing & Managing Automated Backups on GCP/AWS & Azure
