    Senior Digital Commerce Merchandising Specialist

    Job Objectives

    Product Data Mastery

    • Adhere to company standards by mastering our product catalogue, ensuring accurate and up-to-date product information (descriptions, pricing, images) across all digital commerce platforms.
    • Conduct analysis of product performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement in the online space.
    • Research best practices and industry standards to ensure our digital content remains competitive and engaging.
    • Audit and validate data sources to ensure product accuracy, availability, and completeness.
    • Define and maintain exception reports to flag anomalies in pricing, stock, or categorisation.
    • Collect and enrich product data for PIM systems, with a focus on private label and high-demand SKUs.
    • Monitor and reconcile stock and pricing data between backend systems (e.g., Arch Retail) and the customer-facing platform.

    Merchandising & Content Strategy

    • Align to product performance data by analysing sales trends to inform merchandising strategies and identify top-selling items and underperformers.
    • Execute compelling product presentations and contribute to the development of promotional calendars and placement strategies.
    • Craft engaging product descriptions that effectively showcase the value and benefits of our offerings.
    • Manage and optimise product visibility, categorisation, and sequencing across mobile and web platforms.
    • Define and test merchandising rules and logic for dynamic environments (e.g., time-of-day, location-based, or mission-driven merchandising).
    • Ensure compliance of product pages with internal standards and regulatory requirements, especially for sensitive categories like liquor and pharmaceuticals.
    • Collaborate with development teams to automate merchandising themes and missions using real time data.

    Performance Reporting & Analysis

    • Report on key digital commerce metrics such as conversion rates, average order value, and product performance to track progress and highlight areas for growth.
    • Provide insights from performance reports to both the creative/marketing and data teams to refine strategies and execution plans.
    • Gather insights on digital commerce trends and competitor strategies, actively seeking to improve our digital commerce operations.
    • Propose innovative solutions to enhance data management, merchandising execution, and overall online customer experience.

    Project Execution & Ad Hoc Initiatives

    • Participate in UAT and production testing for new features, app updates, and merchandising logic.
    • Communicate project plans and updates to internal stakeholders, including development, operations, and franchise teams.
    • Contribute to training and onboarding materials to ensure franchisees and store teams understand digital merchandising workflows.
    • Assist in defining and confirming store-specific ranges, even in cases of limited regional input.
    • Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the line manager - including ad hoc or cross-functional workstreams.

    Technical Collaboration & Tooling

    • Work with developers and product teams to implement merchandising automation, scripts, and logic.
    • Support integration of product data across systems (e.g., PIM, ERP, OMS) and third-party marketplaces.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, feed errors, and product visibility issues.

    Qualifications

    • Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Information Systems, Marketing or a related field. 

    Experience

    • +5 years of experience in digital merchandising, ecommerce operations, retail systems or a related field.
    • +5 years of progressive experience dealing with digital commerce strategies, optimizing online retail platforms, and managing cross-functional ecommerce initiatives across diverse markets.
