    Senior Director: Technology

    Job Purpose:

    • Responsible for overseeing the Company's execution of all technology related initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and optimization of processes. Spearhead the design, development, and implementation of systems and technology innovations, creating efficiencies across various domains including business systems, cybersecurity, platform ecosystem, back end and front end. This role is critical for driving technical excellence, fostering innovation, and supporting key business goals by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and robust processes for the on-time delivery of technology projects. 

    Key functions: 

    • Strategic Initiatives 
    • Coordination on strategy with Board, EXCO and MANCO; and translating this into workable plans, to drive implementation and coordination within the Company. 
    • Resource management, assignment and tracking in line with approved budgets.
    • Systems integrity and scalable systems design and implementation.
    • Ultimate responsibility for compliance (legal and regulatory) of technology systems and monitoring of adherence within business unit.
    • Division culture and HR management within the larger company structure and in line with policies and procedures.

    Minimum education (essential):

    • Relevant Engineering Degree

    Minimum education (desirable):

    • Certification in Management or Leadership

    Minimum applicable experience (years):

    • 15 years

    Required nature of experience:

    • Team management
    • Process design and optimisation
    • Budgets, forecasts and financial management of department
    • Management of key relationships 
    • Experience in a scale-up environment
    • Hearing industry or technology environments
    • Proven experience leading large-scale technology transformations, including platform development, system integrations, and cybersecurity operations.
    • Strong background in software development, cloud services, APIs, and system architecture.
    • Familiarity with business systems like Salesforce and data-driven business intelligence.

    Skills and Knowledge (essential):

    • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences and formats (written, verbal) 
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Ability to think strategically and execute effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Expertise in cybersecurity protocols and certifications, cloud computing, and modern IT operations.

    Strategy 30%

    • Lead and oversee the entire technology landscape for the Company (including both B2B and B2C), ensuring alignment with the Company's long-term goals.
    • Lead the execution of the strategy established by the leadership team. 
    • Act as a strategic partner to the C-suite (CTO, COO, CPO, CRO) to influence product roadmaps, revenue generation, timelines, and launches.
    • Provide guidance for B2B and B2C projects, including web, mobile (iOS, Android), and cloud-based initiatives.
    • Drive system architecture and integration, selecting and managing key systems like back-end APIs, cloud infrastructures, and business analytics (BA).
    • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth, tracking and optimization continuously.
    • Implement a data-lead approach to strategic direction within the organization.
    • Direct and facilitate the development of the strategic plan (short, medium and long term), operating plan (efficiencies and optimization) and departmental plan (ensures that each business unit is working towards a company-wide goal).

    Division & Team Management 20%

    • Holistic team management to ensure healthy team culture (physical, emotional and professional safety).
    • Ensure team and self development in terms of continuous learning, expertise development and innovation.
    • Monitor and encourage team performance, ensuring best use of resources.

    Increase Division’s effectiveness with the following:

    • Recruitment, selection and orientation;
    • Training, coaching, and counseling
    • Disciplinary matters; 
    • Communicate values, strategies, and objectives; 
    • Assign accountabilities and plan. Monitor and appraise job results; 
    • Develop incentives within provided budget; 
    • Develop a climate for offering information and opinions; 
    • Providing educational opportunities.
    • Manage team’s P&L in coordination with Finance, and drive efficiency and optimization of the bottom line. 
    • Ensure effective team communication and adherence to hearX company policies.
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of completed work product by commenting on and signing off on such work product. 
    • Maintain strict management confidentiality in terms of knowledge of HR details and Executive decisions and data. 
    • Manage and increase team efficiency and output.

    Technology Development 40%

    • Oversee strategic technology projects and ensure their successful execution from inception to implementation.
    • Ensure that the technology infrastructure is reliable, secure, and efficient, and that it can support the Company’s current and future needs.
    • Manage relationships with technology partners and vendors to identify new technology solutions and to negotiate contracts and agreements to the advantage of the Company.
    • Oversee the IT Operations and Cybersecurity teams, ensuring robust daily operations, vulnerability assessments, PEN testing, and certifications for cybersecurity.
    • Provide strategic direction for system security to protect the Company's assets and data.
    • Lead the Business Systems functions to optimize and innovate processes, particularly in the Salesforce environment.
    • Drive the integration of systems to streamline business operations and ensure efficient data management across the Company.

    Quality Management, Certification & Cybersecurity 10%

    • Ensure conformity of products to product ad certification requirements.
    • Ensure that the team maintains records as required for QMS, certification and cybersecurity purposes.
    • Provide required information in line with Quarterly Management Reviews and QMS process adherence.
    • Oversee and sign off on CAPA quality and closure time in terms of the hearX Quality Objectives.
    • Ensuring team’s compliance to the QMS and associated processes
    • Upholding of ethical and legislative requirements throughout the technology team. 
    • Drive a certification and compliance culture to ensure that systems and processes within the Division unit are compliant to existing (and new) certifications that incorporate technology.
