    Senior Electrical Designer

    Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Electrical Designer with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry to provide support to our Client in the execution of projects in Sasolburg.

     Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

    • Technical Design Ability - Guides and coaches others to achieve a high standard in technical design using WOOD, client and industry standards, and data in line with Project requirements.
    • Technical Expertise - Demonstrates an ongoing ability and interest to improve technically, maintaining current technical knowledge, and cultivating relationships with technology providers. Responsible for checking models and deliverables. Provides support to Chief Engineers and feedback.
    • Cross-Discipline Project Team Interaction - Proactively works with other discipline designers/engineers. Working with lead engineer and other discipline leads at project meetings, internal/external, and client resolving issues.
    • Understanding and meeting Schedule and Schedule dependencies - Accountable for deliverable production to suit project schedule.
    • Commercial Awareness and Customer Focus - Demonstrates increasing customer (client) focus, be aware of and responsive to the customer (client) needs without sacrificing the project and Corporate objectives.
    • Interpretation of Engineering Requirements - Takes responsibility for the quality of the interpretation. Initiates design solutions.

    Skills / Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • NDip – Electrical Engineering Power
    • 8 Years minimum experience

    Knowledge, skills, and experience:

    • Smartplant Electrical (SPEL)
    • Smartplant Review
    • Microstation V8i - 2D
    • Smartplant 3D / Microstation PDS - 3D
    • Relux; DIALUX
    • MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
